Hello!

I use several ai contact safe forms and now I'm getting the MISSING_MAILBOX@SYNTAX_ERROR instead of the default sender email. I got in touch with the host provider and they said it's best to reinstall AI CONTACT SAFE.

Is it safe to unistall the version I have on my website and install a new one? Does that mean I'll loose all the information stored in the previous version?

the website is www.abes-es.org.br and there is a form in www.abes-es.org.br/index.php?option=com_...sage&pf=7&Itemid=125

Thanks!
Andrea

Hi,

Yes, you can uninstall the extension and the information in the database will not be removed, unless you go into it's control panel and remove them from there. If you want to try it I suggest making a back-up first anyway.

But I doubt reinstalling the extension will help.
Can you post the entire error message you're getting ?

Hello and thanks for the quick response.

When someone sends information through the form I receive an email with the sender MISSING_MAILBOX@SYNTAX_ERROR to my mailbox This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. which is the mailbox that receives all the forms content.

The information comes ok only the sender is not the name I adressed before in the control panel.

I could send you a PM with the login to my website and you could change the default adress to yours and run a test or something.

thanks

Make sure you have the field where the visitors are entering their email address set in the parameter "Field used as email" of the profile.
Also check what email address is displayed in the "Email" column in the "Messages" window. You should have the email address entered by the visitor. If you have it the problem is generated by the email server and you can check this by temporary setting a gmail account to send the messages.

Hi!

I checked that the email displayed in the email column is the address entered by the visitor. The problem is with the sender address when I receive in my mail box. I don't think I understood what you mean when you said "Make sure you have the field where the visitors are entering their email address set in the parameter "Field used as email" of the profile."

I'm sending you an attached picture. Is there anything I should change in the profile settings?

I've had these forms for a long time and it hasn't given me any trouble so far. I haven't changed any paramenters in the last few days.

thanks

The profile seams to be set OK.
As i said, I think the problem is generated by the email server you're using and you can test this by simply set a gmail account in your global configuration to send the emails.
Here is how:
